Vintage Harper's Bazaar Magazine back issue for February 1958, "Traveling by Jet, Fashion on a New Plane" issue.
Love this cover, reminds me of the Flight Attendant scene in 2001 Space Odyssey by Stanley Kubrick. I find it quite futuristic. Features a great Mr. John's hat and Wear-Right gloves.
The fashion editorials do not disappoint, under the supervision of Diana Vreeland, Gwen Randolph and others. The issue is dedicated to air travel, form the proper clothes to wear in the plane to the 66lb Wardrobe to take along.
"Jonny Herbert does the Capri de Havana" , the beautiful hotels and casinos filled Cuba's capital in the 50s.
The ads are gorgeous, Oleg Cassini (a very WOW dress)i, Lilli Ann, Swimsuits by Givenchy for Jantzen,Adele Simpson (including Jewelry), a fold out for the Convair 880 Luxury Jet (Elvis Presley owned one) with cut out birds reminiscent of George Braque, Neiman Marcus, many more, too many to mention individually.
Magazine is in excellent vintage condition.
