The 2nd pass roller is the most common tray 3 paper jam failure in the hp 5si and 8000. The roller will wear and cause consistant paper jams located on the right access door.

TECH NOTE: A simple way to know if your printer suffers from a worn 2nd pass roller is to simply load 11"/17" size paper or legal size in tray 3 if your printer prints without a paper jam than you can be sure that you need to replace the 2nd pass roller.

Replacing the 2nd pass roller requires the input assembly to be removed if you choose to do this repair we recommend the clutch (5204) to be replaced at the same time.
