Fermented grain extract is derived from a traditional European health drink Brottrunk, literally “bread drink”. Sourdough bread of freshly milled oats, wheat and rye is subjected to a second fermentation. Naturally occurring lactic acid probiotics (like acidophilus) transform the bread into a highly nutritive substance. The liquid portion of Brottrunk is used in Dr.Hauschka Cleansing Milk. Fermented grain extract is rich in proteins, calcium, iron, vitamins B1, B2, B3, B6, B12, E, and Co-enzyme A. The natural ferments restore and protect the skin's acid mantle, and have humectant, anti-allergenic and anti-inflammatory properties. Fermented grain extract helps break down impurities and detoxify, while bringing moisture and vitality to the skin.
This product also is excellent for men to apply before shaving to protect their skin from irritation and help lubricate the razor blade.
