Existing Spas - Over the Wall [Retrofit] Installation
For existing spas, the SpaPilot unit will be provided with a quick-disconnect cell cord for simple, over the wall installation.

Automatic self cleaning: The reverse polarity function is designed to automatically clean the cell blades, maximizing the cell's ability to manufacture chlorine or bromine. This feature is enabled only when the power is on and the L.E.D. light displays a solid green color. The unit reverses polarity after the first hour of run time; then every three hours from that point on.

SpaPilot Starter Blend
SpaPilot Starter Blend is a unique formulation of sodium chloride, non-metallic anti-calking agent, clarifier and sequestring agent.
Directions for use: Start with a freshly filled spa. Ensure the temperature is at least 80ºF and the water has been balanced. For residential spas with a volume up to 400 gallons; empty the entire contents [4.96 lbs] directly into the center of the spa, with the jets operating. For larger residential spas [over 400 gallons], add an additional 1.6 lbs. of SpaPilot Spa Starter Blend for each 100 gallons of water volume.

SpaPilot Power Pouches
A unique "pre-measured" oxidizer and shock blend, pH buffered and packaged in completely soluble pouch. SpaPilot Power Pouches oxidize organic debris, free up additional sanitizer and keep your pH where it should be.
Add Power Pouches before and after each spa use:
Ensure your spa water has been balanced and treated as required with SpaPilot Starter Blend. Remove the spa cover and the SpaPilot cell [over-wall model only].
For residential spas with a volume up to 400 gallons:
Simply drop one SpaPilot Power Pouch directly into the center of the spa, with the jets operating.
Allow the pouch to completely dissolve [one minute or less] before entering your spa. When finished using the spa, drop one SpaPilot Power Pouch directly into the center of your spa. Place the SpaPilot cell back into the spa - to keep the spa water sanitized for you - and cover your spa.
For larger residential spas, the dosage will be as follows:
Add one SpaPilot Power Pouch before entering your spa and two after each use.

The test strips included with your SpaPilot test the salt levels [NaCI] in the water, total bromine, free chlorine, pH, and total alkalinity.

How it works:
Once the SpaPilot starter blend is added to your freshly filled spa, the dream begins. Salt in the SpaPilot Starter Blend is broken down to produce Chlorine on site in your spa water. Bromine can be generated with the addition of sodium bromide. Add Power Pouches before and after each spa use. Power Pouches oxidize organic debris, free up additional sanitizer and keep your pH where it should be. Place the cell in the spa, while the spa is not in use, and it will keep the spa water sanitized for you.
This protects your spa, minimizing maintenance requirements. It even helps clarify your water! The SpaPilot Spa sanitizing system is a complete package designed to make spa care simple.

3. Add Power Pouches before and after each spa use.
Product Usage:
The SpaPilot unit is designed to provide a chlorine residual whenever the spa is not in use. With an average residential spa, this "non-use" time represents 95% to 99% of each day. Supplemental sanitizer/oxidizer should be added before and/oor after each spa use, to maintain 3-5 ppm [mg/L] of free available chlorine/bromine.
The SpaPilot system works in a convection mode, which is independent of the main circulation pump. Rather, the convection cell must be submerged underwater for proper operation. As the cell is energized to generate chlorine, bubbles will appear and is normal. If the cell is removed from the spa, chlorine generation is halted
