more pictures This card has 3 x USB2 ports and 2 x Firewire ports on the back, and includes an internal USB2 and Firewire port, so you can connect it to a front-mounted connector on your PC case, or to a suitable face-plate that installs in a drive bay.
This card uses the highly compatible VIA chipset that has excellent driver support. The USB2 ports are fully compatible with slower USB 1.0/1.1 devices.

The card has 3 x USB2 ports and 2 x Firewire ports on the back.
There is a USB2 and a Firewire connector on the inside of the card to connect internally, e.g. to front-mounted connectors on your PC's base unit. There is also a power connector that uses a "floppy disk" power plug, which enables more power to be supplied down the USB/Firewire connectors.

The PCI card supports "Plug and Play" and doesn't need any jumpers for configuration.
We have found a great online Step-by-step Tutorial from Adaptec that even includes a video showing how you install a PCI Card. All the instructions equally apply to installing this PCI Card. In summary the steps are:
1. Turn off the computer power.
2. Insert the PCI Card into an available PCI slot.
3. Turn on the computer and the system will detect the card automatically under win 98,ME,2000,XP.
4. If Windows asks for drivers, then insert the CDROM supplied and choose the folder: x:\USB\USB2.0-VIA (where 'x' is the drive letter for your CDROM drive).
Note: Windows XP users must be using Service Pack 1 which includes the USB2 drivers. You can download Service Pack 1 from the Windows Update website.
5. Connect the Firewire or USB peripherals to the ports.
