These six sessions feature many of the most important figures of the hard bop era : Thelonious Monk Art Blakey Sonny Rollins Horace Silver J.J. Johnson Lucky Thompson Kenny Clarke etc. Also included are alternate takes of "But Not For Me" And "The Man I Love" - the latter being the legendary take where Miles can be heard getting frustrated with Monk's long silence during his solo.
