Green Aventurine Properties
Its glistening effect comes from the small inclusions of shiny minerals. It was named for a ventura, a type of Italian glass found by accident about 1700. Most aventurine is quartz. Many consider the green aventurine to be the most desirable.

Radiating a claming energy, aventurine is used in shiellding the heart and in healing and balancing the emotions releasing emotional stress. Aventurine further stimulates creativity and independence. It enhances leadership qualities allowing the wearer to act decisively, and strengthens intuitive power. It is especially useful for healing especially disorders of the lungs, heart, adrenal glands, muscular and urogenital system. It balances and aligns one's intellectual, emotional, physical and auric body. Aventurine is also said to bring good luck. Scarab Lore It seemed to the ancient Egyptians that the young scarab beetles emerged spontaneously from the burrow were they were born. Therefore they were worshipped as "Khepera", which means "he was came forth." This creative aspect of the scarab was associated with the creator god Atum.
The ray-like antenna on the beetle's head and its practice of dung-rolling caused the beetle to also carry solar symbolism. The scarab-beetle god Khepera was believed to push the setting sun along the sky in the same manner as the bettle with his ball of dung. In many artifacts, the scarab is depicted pushing the sun along its course in the sky.
During and following the New Kingdom, scarab amulets were often placed over the heart of the mummified deceased. These "heart scarabs" (such as the one pictured above) were meant to be weighed against the feather of truth during the final judgement. The amulets were often inscribed with a spell from the Book of the Dead which entreated the heart to, "do not stand as a witness against me."
A parallel idea of the god is with the newly born, completely formed beetles, which appeared to come out of the dung ball as self generated creatures springing forth full of life. According to the story of the Creation, Khepri says, "I developed myself from the primeval matter which I made, I developed myself out of the primeval matter." This was viewed as a sign of eternal renewal and reemergence of life, a reminder of the life to come. The Egyptians believed the descent under the earth, in the tomb, was only a prologue to rebirth and the endlessness of life. Life and death were in a continual cycle.
So scarabs were worn to assure continued existence, both in this world and the next. The Egyptians wore them as part of their jewelry and buried their mummies with large scarabs placed on their chests to protect the heart.
Scarabs were carved out of many different stones. Other scarabs were made of clay, baked and glazed. The majority of the small scarabs are pierced as though originally used as beads. They usually were inscribed on the bottom with the name of the owner, some brief wish for well-being, magical mottoes, or figures and animals.
