This comparison of the provisions of the EU Regulation 2092/91 with the National Organic Program Rule 7CFR Part 205 was compiled by Jim Riddle and Lynn Coody, both from USA. The comparison includes the scope of the regulations; crop, livestock, processing and labelling standards, and the respective input lists for these. The study does not at present compare the requirements for private certification bodies in the two regulations. The EU requirements include the requirements of ISO/IEC Guide 65 by reference. The US requirements are contained within the Rule as published.
