The Meters' instrumental blend of funk, blues, and down home New Orleans soul, would lay the groundwork for much of what was to come in the following decades, and have an incalculably huge influence not only on the funk - soul genres, but hip hop and rock as well. Originally released in 1970, Look Ka Py Py was the Meters' second release and includes funk classics like "Dry Spell - Pungee," "9 'Til 5," "Rigor Mortis," "Funky Miracle," "Yeah, You're Right" and the title track, which would climb into the top 10 on the R&B charts.
