This one-hour program, originally broadcast on May 5, 2005, from the University at Albany's Center for Public Health Preparedness, identifies the benefits of emergency preparedness.
The program provides examples of the transformations that state and local public health agencies have undergone as a result of placing an emphasis on emergency preparedness.
Program objectives include:
- Review essential public health services in relation to emergency response;
- Elaborate upon national public health issues related to terrorism; and
- Describe current characteristics and functions of local public health.
