As early as 8th grade, nearly 1 in 4 students reports experiencing dating abuse.
This Spanish-language, magnetic picture frame, from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Choose Respect Campaign, describes the warning signs of dating abuse. Parents, teachers, and other adults can use the inside of the frame as a handy guide to detect signs of abuse. Abusive behavior includes:
- Insulting boyfriend or girlfriend.
- Losing one's temper and not controlling anger.
- Threatening to do something drastic if the person they are dating tries to break up with them.
The frame can be used to showcase family photos.
