Each year, 1 in 4 adolescents reports verbal, physical, emotional, or sexual abuse. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Choose Respect Campaign is an initiative to help adolescents form healthy relationships to prevent dating abuse before it starts. This initiative stresses the importance of respect as a foundation for building healthy relationships.
This 11âx14â Spanish-language poster shows a situation where a teen could choose abuse or choose respect:
- She made me mad, so I pushed her.
- She made me mad, so we talked about it.
Display this brightly colored, poster throughout schools, community centers, hospitals, and faith-based organizations to encourage teens and adults to openly discuss respect as a choice, and to make sound relationship decisions. A larger version 15"x19" and English versions of this poster are also available.
