Multi-instrumentalist Dirk Powell is one of the most important young traditional musicians in the United States today. He is best known for his accordion work with Balfa Toujours a group which is carrying on the Cajun traditions of Dirk's legendary father-in-law Dewey Balfa. But he is also the banjo player whose performance is featured in the hit film 'Cold Mountain'.
