88 tracks over four CDs Featuring the most famous and celebrated of the original Boogie Woogie masters Albert Ammons Pete Johnson Meade "Lux" Lewis and Jimmy Yancey. All four of the men contributing to this collection sprang from what might be described as the barrelhouse rent party school of piano playing. However to view them as being limited to playing rollicking boogies would be to do them a mighty disservice. Although they all took advantage of the craze each one of them had a deeper musical personality that allowed him to express himself throughout the mediums of jazz and swing and the blues. The many aspects of their talents are explored on this vibrant compilation.
