Carved Bakelite and metal fish with a delightful curved form attached to a plated metal backing and enhanced with a metal bead for his eye. The goldtone chain has a central link that was attached to a necklace chain, but the necklace chain didn't match so I removed it. Highly polished, I have not been able to get a positive test for Bakelite, but I have little doubt that it is. It is the same material that is found on Bakelite cutlery from the 1940s and has the Bakelite "clunk" when tapped on a table. Measures 3 1/2" long and is in excellent condition. I have not found another fish like this anywhere.
