Whether its casting, jigging, trolling or bait soaking, there are no better reels on the market than the Shimano Trinidad range, and multi-skilled anglers who use these varied techniques will appreciate the strength and performance inherent in these exciting overheads. This year Shimano has added two larger capacity models to the range - the 40 and the 50. Again, they share the existing Trinidad ranges features - one piece machined aluminium frame; one piece forged aluminium side plates; aluminium spool; Super Stopper anti-reverse plus Assist Stopper anti-reverse pawl; A-RB bearings; Star Drag; rubberised ergonomic power handle; adjustable tension clicker (a Baitrunner system for an overhead no less) and Dartanium Drag system - but with increased line capacity! With vertical jigging being rediscovered by offshore anglers in recent times, the Trinidad 40 and 50 will be the ideal tools for the job, while still performing exceptionally well when used for trolling, casting or live-baiting. One of the outstanding features of the Trinidad is the hot 6.2:1 retrieve ratio found on the Trinidads 12, 14, 1 6, 20 and 30. This will suit anglers casting and retrieving metal lures that need a bit of pace to bring out their action, and also those who like to jig the reefs offshore. The hot ratio will get jigs on a vertical retrieve really working. The Baitrunner/freespool feature on the Trinidad will also find a lot of admirers, particularly those who like to fish big snapper in the bays. The Trinidad series are finely crafted overhead reels that combine a beautiful finish with all the durability and toughness for which Shimano is justifiably famous.
