You need your hood when you´re hiking or on a lift, and the wind picks up or storm gets worse. You want a hood that you can throw on quickly, an easily adjusts completely while wearing gloves. When you get to the top, you want to release the hood back all the way open so it´s out of your way to ride down. Typical hoods just don´t function like that. They have a bunch of different adjustments thar really only work on the shop floor without gloves on. By the time you get it adjusted on the lift, it is already too late. Until now. With the Section Progression hood, you pull the lower set of pulls and the hood automatically adjusts hood opening, peripheral vision, and volume ALL AT ONCE. By pulling the 2nd set of pulls, the hood resets itself to the full open position. It is very easy to do with gloves on, an 2nd set off pulls can be tucked behind the flaps under the revets so they aren´t hanging down when you don´t need the hood. The special 3 dimensional patterning of the hood creates more room at the back so it is compatible with a helmet without being to big to function if you just wear a knit hat. The removable version also solves the problem of a typical zip off hood because they usually are just there to sell the jacket and they work even worse than a fully time hood. Our version integrates completely into the collar, and actually works as well as if it were connected permanently. Autocuff The Autocuff solves many problems associated with typical outerwear cuffs. The best way to understand the Autocuff is to think of its function as a metal wachband. Like wachband, you adjust it to where you want it ONE TIME, and then it opens and closes in the same exact position every time. This automates the cuff so you don´t to constantly adjust them to make them the tightness you want. The biggest benefit with the autocuff is that it allows the exterior velcro to be fully covered so it is totally protected from snow and water. It is really annoying when your cuffs pop open constantly once the velcro gets wet. With the Autocuff, your cuffs will never pop open again. Dimensional Venting The amount of airflow you get when a typical vent is open is not that much more than when it is closed. This is because there is nothing to keep the vnt open when you unzip it. Then when you want to close it, the mesh lining gets stuck in the zipper´s teeth. With Section´s Dimensional Venting , there is an elastic loaded fabric welt placed between the zipper and the mesh. This forces the vent stay open by loading the zipper and shortening the opening lenght. You can instantly feel the different betweenSection´s Dimensional Venting and a typical vent. The other greate feature with Dimensional Venting is that the thickness of the welts keep the mesh far enough from the zipper teeth to keep it from getting stuck when you zip it closed. Fade Gaiter Sometimes the best ideas are the simplest ones. Waist gaiters are very good when the conditions call for them. Otherwise they are a pain in the ass. Everybody else just puts a zipper on them to zip it out. Your costumers will zip it out on a good day and then lose it or forget it when they need it. By making it disappear into a pocket, both problems are solved. It´s also way better if you wear the jacket to school because it doesn´t make your look like you´re shredding when you´re not. You can´t feel that it is there when zipped inside the pocket because it sits in a narurally hollow spot on you body. Additional Features 5 Exterior Pockets Disappear Wrist Gasket Inside the Autocuff we use a specially knit gasket. We knit them instead of using lycra for a few different reasons. Just like you wouldn't wear lycra socks, you don't want lycra where you sweat because it doesn't really breathe. The knit material we use is incredibly breathable keeping your hands fromgetting to sweaty in your gloves. Another great benefit is that if you don't want to use them, they fold back on themselves and are secured through the thumbhole with a webbing loop and snap. The days of putting your hand through the thumbhole by mistake are over. Media Pocket On-Off Quick Cord at Hem The Quickcord features is based on a glove design we did a few years ago that closed easily, and then opened just as easily.The hem cord is tightened by pulling the grips located in the front pockets. By pulling the webbing on the jacket sides, it automatically loosens your hem. Have you ever noticed that hem cords stop wanting to adjust open or closed in cold weather? The Quick Cord solves the problem. Progression Suspension and Jacket Connection The Progression Suspension System has an elastic cord running all the way around the body of the jacket's interior, with 2 snaps on the pants, it allows your jacket/pant to stay connected without overheating like if you used the waist gaiter. Since the cord is long it gives more slack than most attachment systems, so it doesn't give you a wedgie when the jacket pulls up on your pants. 4 Exterior Logo Apploications Recoil Pass Pocket Another new SPS feature for '05, the Recoil Pass Pocket is built just like an under stormflap goggle pocket, but is positioned at the same location as the internal Fade Gaiter pocket so you can't feel it.
