Chamomile is the flower head of either of two special annual plants, the German Chamomile (Matricaria recutita) and the Roman Chamomile (Chamaemelum nobile), both of which are found mostly in the temperate regions. Growing up to 2ft, the plants have small daisy-like white flowers and bright green feathery leaves with an apple like scent.

Ancient Egyptians used Chamomile as a cure for different illnesses several centuries ago, a practice that was later adopted by the Europeans in the 1600s. The Egyptians valued the Chamomile to such an extent that they dedicated them to their gods. The Greeks called it "ground-apple" because of its smell, and the name Chamomile was derived from the Greek words kamai (on the ground) and melon (an apple). Matricaria, on the other hand comes from the Latin word matrix, which means “womb”, reflecting the herb’s age-old usage as a remedy for treating menstrual disorders. In the olden days, people called Chamomile the "Plant's Physician" because it was such a good companion plant and was believed to be able to bring a sickly plant back to health just by being planted near it.

In 1656, John Parkinson, a renowned English horticulturist and one of the three great English herbalists, wrote in "Theatrum Botanicum: The Theatre of Plants", 'Chamomile is put to diverse and sundry uses, both for pleasure and profit, both for the sick and the sound, in bathing to comfort and strengthen the sound and to ease pains in the diseased'.

Why Purchase From Us ? Our Chamomile Tea is specially packed using the latest Japanese teabag technology using the Tetrahedral(Triangular) shaped tea bags from Japan . These revolutionary food grade teabags allow better infusion compared to the usual paper teabags in the market. In addition, the extra volume of such teabags enables us to use whole-leaf tea instead of the usual tea dust. In this way, one can enjoy a cup of tea with an aroma and taste equivalent to that of tea brewed traditionally using a teapot with just our teabag and boiling water! What's more, you can view the entire process of the tea leaves/flower expanding. How to prepare our Chamomile Tea ? 1) Take out one tea bag and place it inside a mug 2) Pour about 150cc of boiling water 3) Seep the tea bag for 4-5 minutes and remove it from the mug. (Do not throw away the tea bag yet) 4) The tea is ready to consume. You may want to add ice to make an ice chamomile tea as well.

5) You can prepare another 1-2 mug of Chamomile Tea using the same tea bag. 25 teabags per packet
