The lexicographer has drawn material from nearly 80 published books and pamphlets, and the source is indicated for each entry. In the case of many holy men their sayings are written down or printed long after they have quit their mortal body, so the authenticity of the sayings is often debatable. Speaking about admiration Bhagavan says, "No one eats to appease another in hunger, nor takes drugs to alleviate another's illness. Do not seek the approval, appreciation or admiration of others."
Bhagavan brushes aside Atheists with the statement, "The nature of true love between the devotee and God cannot be understood by the unbelievers.".....
Talking on enmity, Swami says, "Ignore the abuses of others, because they serve only to diminish your sins and transfer them to the reviler."
