Seller Vedic Books

A compilation of Sathya Sai Baba's significant statements on more than 1,100 different subjects, including many taken from His recent discourses. The source of each quote is documented. Sathya Sai Baba declared it was a "Very Good Book!"; then He signed and blessed the manuscript, and materialized a three diamond ring for the author.

The subjects are presented in an easy to read format, and arranged in alphabetical order, from Aarthi to Zoroastrianism, to facilitate accesability. An extensive Sanskrit-to-English Glossary/Dictionary is appended.

This is an invaluable resource book of Sathya Sai Baba's Teachings placed at the service of students, teachers, research scholars, study groups and casual readers.

About the Author:

A retired adminstrator and small business owner, and now author and compiler of two books.

Reviews:

".....It is a massive tome running to 740 pages. Quite a dictionary with terms arranged alphabetically. Starting from Aarthi it ends with Zoroastrianism. And all the entries are in Baba's own words. The lexicographer has drawn material from nearly 80 published books and pamphlets, and the source is indicated for each entry. In the case of many holy men their sayings are written down or printed long after they have quit their mortal body, so the authenticity of the sayings is often debatable. Hence, Sathya Sai devotees must be extremely grateful to the author to have within reach a volume of authentic pronouncements of their master....." - The Hindu, August 26, 1997

"The quotations ring with authenticity and epigrammatic terseness. They have the force of incantations capable of transporting the reader to meditation. Here are a few examples:

Speaking about admiration Bhagavan says, "No one eats to appease another in hunger, nor takes drugs to alleviate another's illness. Do not seek the approval, appreciation or admiration of others."

Bhagavan brushes aside Atheists with the statement, "The nature of true love between the devotee and God cannot be understood by the unbelievers.".....

Talking on enmity, Swami says, "Ignore the abuses of others, because they serve only to diminish your sins and transfer them to the reviler."

On women, Swami has interesting observations: "Respect for women is a sign of real culture. When women are true and brave, kind and compassionate, virtuous and pious, the world can have an era of peace and joy." - Spiritual Impressions, Mar-Apr 1997
