It will hold water and nutrients without the concerns of dramatically lowering the pH of the medium. Use it to make your own soil. Add 75 quarts of water to one brick to yield approximately 5 cubic feet of pith fiber. It is itself slightly acidic and ranges in 5.2 to 6.8 pH.
