Sudoku is now a global craze, and many people are hooked. The puzzles are everywhere, newspapers, newsagents, filling stations, bookshops etc. There are electronic hand-held and PC-ROM versions, and they can be found on the Internet. Surprisingly, good solving guides are relatively quite rare and hard to find unless you actually search them out. Sometimes these guides are complicated and difficult to follow, which is why I have endeavoured in this little book to fill this gap.
The reader is taken through all the good solving techniques one at a time with clear explanations and illustrative examples, and examples with answers to test understanding. The techniques stretch from the simplest to the most advanced, and in the latter care has been taken to make the explanations as clear as possible, and a summary to drive home the points.
To show the worth of the techniques, a puzzle at the difficult end of the spectrum is solved step by step using every single one, in the solution.
Different versions of Sudoku are to be found, large and small grids, and even using letters instead of numbers. This book however concentrates on the addictÂ’s choice, that is, the classic 9x9 grid puzzle.
