Joanna founded Vaccination Awareness Network UK in March 1997, at the age of 19, when she was the first time mother of a one year old unvaccinated toddler. She had researched the issue of vaccination for her own child and decided to share this information with others. To date, she has now been reading medical journals and papers for 10 years. She has also written a book about breast feeding, after nursing her youngest child for 3 years, and she has written a novel.
After setting up the VAN UK vaccination helpline, she trained in person-centred counselling to enable her to assist parents, and she has also gained certificates in Reiki Healing 1 and 2, from the Yolande Bosman School of Alternative Therapy.
In 2005 she qualified with an A grade in Anatomy and Physiology and Neuro-Psychological Immunology (the study of psychosomatic medicine and the immune system).
