These white gold Safety studs feature 14K white gold 'butterflys' or 'clutches' encased in plastic and are available as an 'upgrade purchase' for those wishing to have additional security for their stud earrings. (Because they are encased in plastic, they are very tight on the stud 'post' and therefore even more secure).
We only sell these to customers buying stud earrings at the same time and will mount the safety butterflys on the posts for the customer and we will retain the existing butterflys. (Hence, the lower price).
