Fantastic Victorian era silverplate F. B. Rogers Butter Dish with a rolling domed lid. The main dish is elevated on three ornate legs which feature an exquisitely designed lion's head and claw foot on each.
This is an absolutely incredible piece that has been well cared for over the years. It is in excellent condition with minor surface scratches from gentle wear. Approximately 5" high and 4 3/4" across the diameter.
It is marked F. B. Rogers Silver Co. and bears the number 273. Other marks include 1883 separated in the middle by a crown, and the word TRADEMARK.
This piece has been polished, but remainders of a patina have been left in the crevices and creases of the design. Would work equally well as a butter dish, a mint server or candy dish, or a potpourri holder.
