SOLD Antique paper and ephemera Robert McNeil Pharmaceuticals advertising receipts dated 1932 and 1933. The advertising portion is on the left of each receipt. Products advertised are Tablets Nacitra (which looks like an early Alka Seltzer-type product), the Rosebud Tampon, and a group of testing solutions and reagents for urine (McNeil Urine Test Solutions), albumen (Exton's Reagent) and sugar (Benedict's Solution). These receipts were sent to Dr. L. West of Brunswick MD. Condition is very good with light dog-ears on two receipts and a tear along the horizontal foldline of one receipt. Nice and clean.
McNeil began when Robert McNeil opened a storefront pharmacy in Kensington Philiadelpia in 1879 and became McNeil Laboratories in 1933, just about the time of these receipts. They are still in business today as McNeil Consumer & Specialty Pharmaceuticals, their most well-known products being Tylenol, Motrin and Imodium.
