Antique paper and ephemera official 1899 State of Maryland summons for debt, sent by Patrick W. West, J. P., in Frederick County, reading as follows: "You are hereby commanded to summon John T. A. Deck to appear before me, the subscriber, a Justice of the Peace for the said County, on the 15th day of July, 1897, at 2 o'clock, p.m., to answer unto Smith and Carlisle and have you then and there this summons. Given under my hand and seal this 8 day of July, 1899." Signed Patrick W. West, J. P. To Joseph Hightman, Constable. The back of the summons repeats the pertinent details, including the amount of $64.34, when the summons was served and the July 15 judgment. Condition is good with no tears and minimal yellowing for its age. The paper itself is marked Printed and Sold by Great Southern Ptg. & Mfg. Co., Frederick Md. Bears the official seal of the State of Maryland.
