Abraham Palatnik is a Brazilian artist who, in the 1950s began to explore the creative use of light and technology in art and is considered to be a pioneer in what is now known as kinetic art and op art. His Lucite animal creations are coveted and highly prized. He has exhibited his work internationally, and in 2005 he received the Leonardo Lifetime Achievement Award for his work.
This Lucite owl measures 3 5/8" high and is signed PAL (for Palatnick). There is a sticker on the bottom that reads Made in Brazil and a remnant of another sticker that I presume bore the original price.
