The battle along Chickamauga Creek in North Georgia, Septemeber 17-20,1863, is recognized by many as the "high tide" of the War Between the States in the west. It was the first time that troops from the eastern theater of the war, Longstreet's Corps, fought with the Army of Tennessee. Following the Union breakout from Chattanooga, Bragg assembled his forces along Chickamauga Creek and prepared to make a stand. The resulting battle represented the most grievious loss to the Union in the western campaigns. This vedeo very aptly illustrates that loss and the battle as a whole. Most of the footage was taken at the 135th reenactment of the battle where there were enough troops from both sides to provide realistic numbers. 60 minutes.
