Feeding Guide Lines
The following feeding rations can be used as a guide to the quantity you should feed your Guinea Pig each day. Divide the daily ration into two, morning and afternoon. Nutritional requirements can vary according to activity levels and life stage, so the daily ration should be adjusted to maintain your Guinea Pigs body weight. WEIGHT DAILY RATION 500g - 700g 25 - 32g 800 - 1kg 35 - 42g 1.1 - 1.3kg 45 - 51g
It is important to ensure that all the ingredients in the Gerty Guinea Pig are eaten so that the correct quantity and balance of nutrients are absorbed. if some ingredients are left- reduce the daily quantity of food until everything is eaten.
Always introduce a new diet gradually to minimize the likelihood of digestive upsets. Mix Gerty Guinea Pig food in the same feeding dish with your guinea pigs current food, slowly increasing the quantity of Gerty Guinea Pig food whilst reducing the other food over a 10 day period.
To assist in dental wear always provide additional roughage such as hay, and a gnawing toy.
Fresh, clean water should always be available.
