Antique Whitehead and Hoag button stud advertising the St Peter Apostle Beneficial Society. Whitehead and Hoag Co. of Newark NJ, was founded by Benjamin S. Whitehead and Chester R. Hoag, 1891-mid 1900s. They were highly successful manufacturers of a wide variety of specialty advertising products, celluloid buttons. Internet sources state that they had contracts with Boeing, Guiness, the U.S. Government and the World's Fair, to name just a few. Their items are highly popular with collectors. One seller reported that Whitehead and Hoag's Taft/Sherman Presidential Pin sold on eBay in 2003 for a whopping $9,200!
