European Silver Enamel and Marcasite Brooch, c. early 1900s. A substantial brooch that is marked 825 with a G. The 825 stands for 825/1000 parts silver, and the G is a maker's mark. Exquisitely fashioned with a rich, flowing floral design, set off by borders of marcasites (there are two missing, but because of their tiny size, their absence is unobtrusive) and solid corners. The sturdy pinstem and clasp are in excellent condition. The patina has been partially removed to show the design, but I have left much of it intact. Brooch measures 1 9/16" x 1 1/4". An uncommon brooch that will please any antique jewelry collector.
