Gorgeous vintage to antique pincenez folding eyeglasses in Sterling Silver with solid 14k White Gold bridge. Exquisitely designed with filigree handle and chased patterns all around the lenses, bridge and even on the nose pads. Found with a beautiful short and long delicate Sterling Silver chain, punctuated by round natural Moonstone beads. The chain can be worn separately from the eyeglasses. You can wear any pendant, a locket or even a small ladies pocket watch. Beautiful pieces in great condition for their age considering these were nededed and worn daily, it folds and stays folded without problem. Springs open when the little flower button on the handle is pushed. There is some chipping on the edge of one of the lens and a small repair on the chain, please see pictures for details. Excellent loupe for jewelry hunting when folded but you can have your own prescription made. The original leather case from "Eichlin, Easton, PA" is included.
Measurements are:
Pince nez: Overall 4 1/4" wide including the handle, by 2" tall at the center of the bridge. Lenses are approximately 38mm inside diameter or almost 1 9/16".
Chain: Shaped like the letter Y, it measures 24" long when worn plus a drop of 4 3/8" approximately.
Marked on the bridge "14K" and the patent date of January 30, 1917. only the bridge is Gold, the frames are Sterling. Carefully tested to verify content.
