The Tanabe Medalion Touring catback exhaust is a high flowing catback system designed to maintain maximum exhaust gas flow, while being one of the quietest performance exhaust in the Tanabe line-up. The Tanabe Medalion Touring catback exhaust system is made for sports cars and will benefit either naturally aspirated or forced induction vehicles.
The Tanabe Medalion Touring catback exhaust is made from the highest grade SUS304 stainless steel for maximum durability and incorporates a special 1.2mm thin wall piping for significant weight reduction. In addition, hollow exhaust hangers and pressed flanges contribute to the Tanabe Medalion Touring exhaust’s light weight design. Mandrel bent piping is used to minimize exhaust flow restrictions and maximize usable power.
For the internals of the Medalion Touring catback exhaust, Tanabe uses the new Advantex exhaust technology. Advantex is a highly advanced internal muffler packing material and is currently the most advanced exhaust packing technology in use today. It is a chemically treated composite material that resists acid, heat, rust and many other forms of deterioration. The use of Advantex allows the muffler to reduce sound without using a lot of material. Less material equates to an overall reduction in the exhausts weight. In addition, it allows the canister size to be much slimmer. These slim canisters are designed with lowered vehicles in mind, giving them the maximum ground clearance they need.
A special Dual Wall Angle-Cut Tip reduces exhaust resonation, providing the Tanabe Medalion Touring catback exhaust with its clean and deep trademark sound. The Tanabe Medalion Touring catback exhaust sounds both pleasant and aggressive at all RPM ranges. Specifically designed with motorsports in mind, this Tanabe exhaust system is built to be under the street-use 93db noise level without the use of an additional silencer. Many states in the US have automotive noise regulations that limit the sound output from an automotive exhaust system to be a maximum of 95db. Tanabe has voluntarily placed their sound limit to a safe 93db for trouble free motoring at all RPMs.
