Description
The Highpower 8000 System is a package that includes a control panel and Windows based software. It is usually packaged two proximity card readers as a kit (model P300) as each panel can operate two doors/gates. The 8000 system not only provides access control, but also tracks and manages user information using Microsoft SQL-based database software. The base model includes software to network up to 16 doors (8 kits) but software licenses are available to work with virtually an unlimited number of doors. The 8000 provides the latest in Power-Over-Ethernet technology (802.3af). By using a standard Cat. 5 network cable and a POE enabled network switch, you can both communicate AND power the system through one network cable. The advanced POE features in the 8000 power the controller, the readers and two electric strikes. This POE feature greatly reduces installation time and complexity and reduces the overall cost of the system by elimiating extra power supplies. 1 Year warrany, designed and made in U.S.A. with foriegn components.
Key Hardware Functions
- Tracks cardholder activity and provides reports through integrated Windows based software - It tells you who is coming in and out.
- Supports 2 card readers and two door locks per panel. Panels easily networked over standard Ethernet to form a larger system, using the included software.
- Locking system does not require the PC to be on during normal operation; all cardholder information is stored on the control panel.
- Advanced Power-Over-Ethernet technology makes installing the system uncomplicated and reduces the need for external power supplies.
- The Highpower 8000 system can limit access to certain doors at specific times. It can also unlock and lock doors automatically with a time schedule, completely automatically.
- The 8000 can work with virtually any card format and can also read unencoded barcode. Reader inputs are both Wiegand and ABA compatible. Card IDs are alphanumeric and can be sourced from barcode, magstripe, prox, biometrics and other types of access control devices.
- No battery backup is required since network switch is powering the 8000 unit. Network's backup backs up access control system power.
Software Features
The 8000 utilizes Highpower's new Highpower Management System software (HMS). HMS is designed for operation under the Microsoft .NET application framework and will work on any version of 32 bit Windows that supports .NET 2.0.
