Shoei QWEST Diverge TC-1 Full Face Helmet
Aerodynamic
Shoei's exclusive, state-of-the-art shell forming technology incorporates the aerodynamic advantages of a spoiler right into the shell of the Qwest. Maintaining a consistent shell thickness to guarantee proper strength and weight, the Qwest's shell-integrated spoiler reduces lift and drag during high-speed riding, yielding a stable, less fatiguing ride.
Noise Reduction
It is no secret that long time exposure to engine and wind noise is a major cause of fatigue, something no motorcycle rider should have to risk. The Qwest's flush surface design significantly diminishes excessive wind blast, reducing strain on both ears and neck while cruising the open road. A special integrated neck pad also reinforces stability and cuts invasive noise.
Noise-Reduction Technology
Thanks to countless hours in Shoei's in-house wind tunnels, the Qwest offers a reduction of wind noise without blocking the road's "informative sounds", thanks to optimal shell aerodynamics and liner components designed to prevent unwanted road noises from entering through the bottom of the helmet. The result: A maximum 2.2db reduction in sound (noise levels vary based on motorcycle type, riding position, environmental sounds, etc).
From The Inside
The interior of the Qwest helmet comprises a 3-D center pad and a multi-layered, polyurethane foam cheek pad. The combination of varying softnesses in the foam layers helps preserve their function through use and repeated washing; a soft-touch fabric covering helps achieve an ideal fit. Slits between the fittings allow for eyeglass or sunglass frames, and all cheek pads are replaceable or removable for maintenance.
Go With The Flow
The Qwest helmet's revamped ventilation system incorporates a large upper intake positioned to maximize rider performance in high wind conditions. The lower intake is also larger to improve ease of adjustment while riding.
Ventilation Performance
Utilizing Shoei's wind tunnels to help reveal the optimal balance between airflow and silence, Shoei engineers equipped the all-new Qwest helmet with a larger lower vent shutter for easier use with riding gloves - a strategically-positioned upper vent for optimal air intake, and uniquely-positioned upper exhaust vents to take better advantage of negative pressure suction - all yielding dramatically improved cool air intake and hot air expulsion.
Breathing Helmet
Shoei's Dual-Layer EPS liner utilizes an air route between two layers of impact-absorbing material, distributing fresh air from the front intake vents and exhausting hot air through the rear outlets.
Shield System
Shoei's CW-1 face shield utilizes Shoei's QuickRelease Self-Adjusting (Q.R.S.A.) base plate to allow for tool-less removal and installation. The base plate is spring-loaded and pulls the shield back onto the helmet, sealing it tightly against wind and rain, and eliminating the need for adjustment. The CW-1 shield is both taller and wider than the CX-1V it replaces and special shields are available to accommodate Pinlock Fog-Free Lenses. An optional Pinlock ready CWF-1 model includes posts for tear-off sheets.
