This heat shield from SLP keeps the intake air temperature cool by shielding and insulating the air intake tube that connects the intercooler to the airbox. It is made of a special high-temperature fabric that is laminated with a highly reflective foil that will block over 98% of the radiant heat coming from the turbo, exhaust and engine. Installation is easy, simply remove the intake tube from the intercooler, slide the heat shield over it, fasten it in place and reattach the intake tube to the intercooler.
