OBX TURBO SUBARU WRX STI LEGACY RED SERIES TD06 IHI
This is a direct replacement for 02+ EJ20, 04+ EJ25 turbo applications such as the Impreza WRX/STI, Baja, Forester, Legacy. This turbo has a flow rating of 950cfm / 65lb/min using a 12 blade turbine wheel. Turbo retains factory water and oil positioning. New braided oil feed line is included. We will need to know if you are using this turbo on a engine with AVCS or no AVCS. In addition exhaust housing utilizes an 8cm design. Inlet size is 3" and will require a custom intake tube to be used. Due to the size of the compressor housing TGVs will need to be removed for proper clearance / fitment.
On a 2.5L motor expect this turbo to start making power in the mid 3k rpm range and will not run out of breath going up to redline with the right supporting modifications. This turbo is good for about 450 wheel hp and is capable of more with race gas, built internals, higher boost, and converting to an external wastegate setup...
For this turbo to work at its fullest, end user will need to implement some sort of engine management (Ecutek, Enginutiy/RomRaider, OpenEcu, Hydra EMS, etc...), upgraded fuel components (fuel injectors, fuel pump, etc...), and an aftermarket high flowing exhaust system to see positive gains.
It is suggested that this turbo be used mainly on a 2.5L motor, but does work well with those using a built 2.0L motor with STI version 7 or newer AVCS heads.
