A StopTech big brake kit brings serious braking performance over your stock brake kit. Each StopTech big brake kit includes larger rotors for increased braking surface and airflow. The upgraded brake rotors are either slotted or drilled for better heat dissipation and weight reduction. Each kit also includes upgraded calipers and stainless steel lines to complete your brake system upgrade. The difference between StopTech and other brake kit is that StopTech not only increases the heat capacity but maintains the rear brake torque ratio.
All StopTech big brake kit rotors are innovatively designed for more airflow, cooling, and heat capacity. StopTech has patented AeroRotor which feature curved vanes; the innovative vanes were design for maximum airflow through your rotor. Having these curved vanes increases the airflow 80% compared to OEM rotor. Each AeroRotor undergoes extensive testing for durability and fitment.
Also included in each StopTech big brake kit are stiffer performance calipers. Depending on the car application, the brake calipers included with the StopTech kit can be either ST-40 or ST-60. The ST-40 caliper is StopTech 4-piston performance caliper while the ST-60 caliper is StopTech 6-piston performance caliper. StopTech calipers were design with a bolt-in bridge; with this bolt-in bridge the caliper is strong enough to eliminate distortion while maintaining better cooling. All calipers are machine finished for proper fitment and are tested at 2800 PSI.
All StopTech brake kits come with stainless steel brake lines to better withstand pressure and heat and to minimize line expansion compared to factory brake lines. In addition, StopTech brake lines and are made of clear abrasion resistant cover to prevent chaffing. Each line is also tested at 4,500 PSI and goes through extensive QA to insure durability.
Most StopTech big brake kits come with performance brake pads except where noted in certain race-only application. The StopTech brake pads have been designed to work with the appropriate calipers included with the big brake kit.
Each StopTech brake kit has several options to meet your specific needs. The calipers come in red and black standard. Silver can be requested with additional lead time while blue and yellow caliper color will cost additional charges and require additional lead time. Rotors are available slotted, drilled or blank.
