Hibiscus tea is also often made into a love / lust potion and is actually banned in certain parts of Turkey and Egypt because of this. The flower is also used to make Bridal bouquests and is sprinkled onto the beds of a newly married coulpe to ensure they have a long and happy marriage that is filled with love and joy.
A Few Uses For Healing: Hibiscus flower tea is used for loss of appetite, for colds, catarrhs and to dissolve phlegm. This tea will also help help with cardiovascular concerns such as high blood pressure and elevated cholesterol levels. Studies have also shown that Hibiscus tea can improve liver diseases such as hepatitis and is protecting against cancer.
To make Hibiscus Tea place one teaspoonful of the herb in a cup of water and bring to the boil. Leave for about ten minutes and drink. This may be taken three time daily.
