Colorful Germany beer stein with a typical cameo portrait on the front and Edelweiss flowers down the sides where the number 640 appears. The words Immer Lustig und Fidel -- translated Always Happy and Jolly -- appear above the portrait. The top and bottom of the stein are done in a lustreware glaze. The attached lid is pewter. The stein measures 9" high. I don't know who made this vintage beer stein, but it is marked GERMANY with a hand inscribed 15 and a machine stamped 12. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
