Optimum performance requires a unique blend of design
parameters/materials for these subs to hit hard, sound great and last a
long time. The motor uses dual 25mm thick magnets sandwiched between
12mm thick, machined steel plates. Internal cooling vents from our Free
Flow Cooling System keep fresh air circulating around the voice coil.
The 2.5" voice coil diameter has sufficient surface area to handle the
long term heat buildup while low enough in mass to keep high
efficiency. The coil is coupled to our strong, multi-fiber cone that is
reinforced with an epoxy based dustcap. The EROM surround is efficient
in both excursion and minimal mass. The suspension follows our
philosophy of multiple spider layers for tight bass with low fatigue
over the long haul. The lead wires are laminated into these spider
layers which further enhance durability and sound quality.
