The band were formed in 1987 and took their name from the German translation of ?The Great Gatsby? by Scott Fitzgerald. Wolfsheim have a unique sound, the vocals dark, moody even haunting whilst remaining very strong, blending electropop, gothic classical themes. Intelligent lyrics, catchy tunes and Heppner?s immediately recognisable vocal style make this band well worth checking out. Their unique sound and rememberable lyrics make them one of the best Synthpop bands. This album kind of recalls an almost electronic "Joy Division" but more romantic, and has a more classical influence. As usual for this band the rest of this CD contains a few different mixes and versions not available elsewhere. The sound reminds of elements from Human Drama, Bauhaus, Clan Of Xymox, Japan and Northern Territories.
