How to Use the programmable AUTO-HOLD feature for weighing your pet/animal
As you may know, most pets/animals are too nervous and/or excited and will not want to stay on a scale platform. For these types of animals you can use the manual HOLD button or the programmable AUTO-HOLD feature to weigh them in a carrier/box.
If your pet/animal will not stay on the scale - simply place them in a carrier or box on the scale platform to hold your pet/animal. Then push the TARE button to zero out the weight of the carrier/box.
Please note that before placing the animal inside the carrier/box, you first need to make sure the TARE has been applied with the carrier/box on the scale - the LCD display should read 0.0 lb/oz/g. Once the TARE is verified, you can place the animal inside the carrier/box.

If your carrier/box obstructs the view of the LCD display, you can still obtain the exact weight by first pressing the ZERO button. To check to make sure the ZERO button was pressed, remove the carrier/box from the scale and read the LCD display it should read a negative number (i.e. The displayed amount is the actual weight of the carrier).
Once the scale is ready, you can place the animal in the carrier/box and return them to the scale platform. Then when the scale has obtained a stable weight, the scale will produce an audible BEEP. At this point, you can remove the carrier/box and the AUTO-HOLD feature will HOLD and DISPLAY the EXACT weight of the animal for about 10 seconds.
Use the manual HOLD button to lock-in a stable weight
If you would rather deactivate the AUTO HOLD, you can also use the manual HOLD button to obtain your pet/animals stable weight. First, follow the directions above to remove the weight of your box/carrier.
Once the scale is ready, you can place the animal in the carrier/box and return them to the scale platform. When your animal is calm (i.e. not moving), press the HOLD button to lock-in your pet/animals stable weight. To view your pet/animals LOCKED-IN weight, simply remove the box/carrier. Your pet/animals weight will be locked-in for about 60 seconds.
Programmable Power: allows you set your digital scale to automatically turn off after a few minutes of non-use or you can program the scale to always stay on until you turn it off. You select the power setting the works best for your weighing application.
Programmable HOLD: options include AUTO-HOLD or MANUAL HOLD. You select the HOLD setting the works best for your weighing application.
