The suspension in a subwoofer takes a real pounding, so the 1500 Series
uses proven materials from the 35/9500 Series. The most durable spider
materials are used in multi-spider arrangements in order to provide
long but controlled excursion. We laminate our lead wires between
spider layers to eliminate lead slap and broken lead wires. Our
laminations cost more to produce, take longer to make, and take longer
to assemble. They are built with USA made materials and tinsel lead,
they are formed in the USA, cut, trimmed and laminated into spider
assemblies in-house. Making longer lasting speakers doesn't happen by
accident, it's a methodical and purposeful endeavor.
