Freescale Dual G4 MPC7457 Platform
PCI-G800 is a Dual G4 cPCI Single Board Computer designed around two tightly coupled G4 Power PC Processors (MPC 7457 at 1.2GHz) from Freescale Semiconductor and a Discovery III system controller from Marvell Technology. The system controller supports DDR SDRAM at 333 MHz, Flash Memory, two PCI interfaces, Copper and Fiber Gigabit Ethernet Interfaces and a serial interface. In addition, the board provides a PMC interface, an I2C interface for monitoring the board and CPU temperatures and a JTAG interface for testability
The hot swappable PCIG8000 board can act as a system controller or an intelligent peripheral board, with the help of the PCI-to-PCI bridge provided on the platform, in a variety of plug and play applications in telecommunication, enterprise networking and Internet infrastructure systems. This cost-effective solution will allow system developers and OEMs to quickly launch products such as high-end firewalls, deep packet classification, security/intrusion detection, Ipv4 and Ipv6 management, Billing systems, VPN servers and Instrumentation.
