The Armadillo-9 is a small single board computer that uses an ARM9 processor (Cirrus Logic EP9315: 200MHz). It is equipped with 100Mbps network functionality as well as a wide range of interfaces including serial, USB, IDE and VGA. The Compact Flash slot allows for connection of I/O cards such as memory storage, PHS cards and wireless LAN cards. Also, the PC/104 bus enables functional expansion. As the Armadillo-9 employs Linux as its standard operating system, you will be able to take advantage of the rich array of open-source software resources. Software development can be carried out using the GNU assembler, C-compiler and so on.
The high performance ARM9 processor allows for world standard SSL and IPsec encryption, as well as support for the next generation network protocol, IPv6.
Armadillo-9 are shipped with Linux (kernel 2.6) as their standard operating system. As WindowsCE, NetBSD and ITRON can also be run, it is possible to choose the most suitable operating system for the target application.
