The Cutlass was a short slashing sword, ideal for the close- quarters battles aboard great sailing men-of-war. Generally regarded as a pirate weapon, the cutlass was, in fact, issued to the Naval personnel of many countries, and then promptly stolen by pirates. This piece by Denix replicates French naval style of the correct time period. Excellent for re-creations. The blades of Denix daggers and swords are cast from a metal alloy and cannot be sharpened, making them safe for display in family environments.
