This bronze medal by Jean Mauger commemorates the arrival of James II, King of Great Britain, at the court of Louis XIV of France in 1689 (MI i 652/08: Divo 225). James II had fled to France after the arrival of William III, Prince of Orange, in England. Later the two Houses of Parliament declared that James II had broken the compact between King and his people and declared that he had forfeited the throne. This is an original eighteenth century medal. The diameter is 41mm and the condition EF. This medal has been SOLD.
