Hardy biennial. White, firm and fleshy root which can be cooked or sliced in a salad. The long oval leaves can also be eaten raw and taste best before flowering. Height 90-120cm, spread 90cm. Large evening scented yellow flowers for most of the summer.
Sow in spring in well-manured soil, in rows 30cm apart. Thin out to 10cm. Harvest from October. 145 seeds.
