Taken by John Willheim in 1965, the men in flight suites are the first class of Hmong students to learn how to fly an aircraft. One of them is the famous Hmong T-28 Lee Lue who, within two years, flew over 5000 combat missions during the Secret War in Laos. From left to right: Xiong Kou, Lee Lue, Lee Yeng, Vang Ze, and Vang Toua. Those standing are their teachers and mechanics.
